Macksville riding high
MACKSVILLE came out on top against Guyra in an exciting A grade final at the annual Coffs Harbour polocrosse carnival.
Nana Glen Sportsground was the venue for the carnival which attracted teams from Pallamallawa, Guyra, Warwick, Inverell, Grafton, Macksville who joned Coffs Harbour to battling it out in all grades.
Warwick took out the B grade final while the Coffs first team was unbeaten all weekend to take C grade competition.
Father and daughter combination Tony and Josie Doolan were rewarded for their efforts receiving best No. 1 and best No. 3 respectively.
Grafton's newest team won the D grade competition convincingly, with Coffs Josie Doolan receiving best No. 3 award riding her second horse, Banksia.
The junior competition was run in sections play, with the two sections comprising Hannah Moffat of Guyra, Brooke Bergen, Lani McNeil and Leticia Payten all of Coffs Harbour and Riely Waugh of Macksville and Lockie Johnson of Pallamallawa taking the honours with best No. 1, Kayla Hartley (Coffs Harbour), best No. 2, Sobi Slingsby (Coffs Harbour) and best No. 3, Courtney Parkins (Mack-sville).
Champion male player was Allan Waugh of Macksville with Josie Doolan of Coffs Harbour receiving Champion Female Player.
Coffs Harbour Polocrosse Club would like to thank all the business houses of Coffs Harbour that supported them this year and helped make this a great carnival and thanks to all the hardworking members, especially our president Kevin Hartley.
The next carnival is at Maitland on July 23-24 while North Coast representatives will attend the NSW Zone Championships on August 6-7 at Bingara.
