Lions clubs dig helpingneeds of the community

DIGGING a hole may not be what Lions are best known for, but this lot are ready to dig away to provide a den to those who need it.

Various Lions Clubs have come together from across Australia to sponsor the Accommodations Units at the Radiotherapy Facility, with a whopping $205,000 being raised.

Lions Clubs International Foundation provided a big boost, donating $105,000 in recognition for the critical need of the community to have a local radiotherapy treatment facility available.

Woolgoolga Lions representative Brenton Bennett said various Lions Clubs in the district had been working for some time to ensure they were able to provide a significant donation to the project.

The 25 participating Lions Clubs in the district raised $35,000 for the project, and the Australian Lions Foundation supplied another $15,000.

Woolgoolga Lions roared loud with $50,000.
