FOR Sawtell's Kane Hickey life couldn't be any better.
Kane and his wife Sue welcomed their first child, Mitchell, into the world on Monday, two weeks after Kane shot only the second albatross recorded at Sawtell Golf Club.
Contesting the second round of the club's fourball championships with partner Ron Dean, Kane's tee shot on the par five 17th was misdirected ending up in the rough between the 17th and 18th fairways.
"I was laying up over the pine trees with a six iron 175 metres out hoping to get it close to the green but I didn't see the ball land," he said.
"I thought I had lost the ball until we walked onto the green and it was in the hole.
"It was totally unexpected, life has been a bit of a buzz for me in the past month."
Kane is only the second person behind Barry Ratcliff to have an albatross ona course where there have been 171 hole-in-ones.
