Juniors are making waves



Macauleys is set to come alive with the best young surfing talent from all points on the globe vying for the Billabong Pro Junior title this morning.

For the next five days locals such as Maddison Williams, pictured, Heath Joske, Angela Keighran, Kira Townsend, Billy Kean and series leadr Jayke Sharpe will be hoping for a popular home-town win in what is easily the biggest surfing event ever to be held between the Gold Coast and Newcastle.

With $13,000 in prizemoney on offer and a pathway to the pro ranks on offer, competition is sure to be hot all the way up to Sunday's finals. Photo: BRUCE THOMAS
