DO YOU think that Tiger Woods could still shoot a 63 when he's 63 years-old?

There aren't many golfers who can claim to being able to shoot their age but Sawtell member Jon Wyatt can now join the exclusive club.

Wyatt who is a spritely 70 years-old recently went around the Sawtell course shooting a one under par 70 for the round of his life.

At an age when most golfers skills are on the wane, Wyatt's handicap has been defying gravity over the past five months, starting at 10 and coming into seven after his fantastic round.

Wyatt says that there aren't any strange secrets about his ability to play to his age.

"Above all one must consistently practice on the driving range," he said.

"In this respect I'm most grateful to Steve Bishop and his staff at the Coffs Harbour Driving Range."

With the practice hours that Wyatt puts in on the range, he turns up his nose at conventional thinking that older golfers handicaps should blow out as they get older.

"Put simply why shouldn't veteran golfers be able to improve their game if they go about it the right way?"
