It?s a big weekend for paddlers

PADDLES at the ready and row!

Another huge weekend of outrigging is on offer from this morning at the Jetty as the Coffs Coast Cup is on again.

The main attraction of the weekend-long event will be the Open Men's and Women's races and the gruelling 19-km races are sure to be keenly contested.

The Coffs Coast Cup is a major event on the outrigging calendar that attracts clubs from all over NSW and Queensland with their varying canoes.

The local teams have been training hard for the event and Coffs Harbour's Master Women team has shown that they deserve respect this weekend after thrashing the talented Mooloolaba team in a 12-km pursuit marathon on the Gold Coast.

A training camp at South West Rocks has the home team keen for success and they're hoping they receive a lot of support from any spectators that make it to the northern end of Jetty Beach.
