I did it for dad

FOR Kristy Greensill, there is no sacrifice too great for her father.

Which is why the 17-year-old former hair model yesterday parted with her lovely locks as part of the Leukaemia Foundation's 'World's Greatest Shave'.

Two months ago, Kristy's dad was diagnosed with cancer. It was then that she knew she would do anything to help ? including a radical new hairstyle.

"I did it for him ? I did it for dad," Kristy said.

"He was a little shocked when I first told him I was going to shave all my hair off, but he is so proud of me."

With the support of her family and boss at the Jetty Village Cafe and Juice Bar, Kristy has raised more than $700 for the Leukaemia Foundation.

And she loves her new look.

"It feels excellent. I'm even thinking about keeping it this way."

n A number of groups and individuals on the Coffs Coast will today and tomorrow take part in The World's Greatest Shave. For a list of your nearest 'shave spot' visit www.worldsgreatestshave.com.
