Hunt on for new GM

COFFS Harbour City Council has begun the process of recruiting a new general manager, following the resignation of Mark Ferguson.

Mr Ferguson, who has accepted the position of general manager of Pittwater Council in Sydney, resigned as general manager of Coffs Harbour City Council on July 12 and will leave on August 31.

Council will be inviting up to six recruitment firms to bid for the recruitment of a new general manager.

A committee of the mayor and council's four committee chairmen, Crs Ian Hogbin, Ian Ovens, Rod McKelvey and Bill Palmer, will consider the bids and select a recruiting firm.

This firm will be engaged to advertise the position and prepare a shortlist of up to eight candidates, who will be interviewed and considered by the full council.

At the council meeting on August 18, councillors will appoint an acting general man- ager.
