Syndon Linsley opened her University Admissions Index (UAI) result yesterday morning, and could not believe what her eyes were telling her.

"I had to keep looking at the page because I didn't quite believe it," Ms Linsley, a former Coffs Harbour Senior College student said.

Achieving a UAI result of 98.05 will hopefully secure Ms Linsley a place at the Australian National University in Canberra to study a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Actuarial.

"It was a big sense of relief. It's all over now and I don't have to worry anymore," Ms Linsley said.

Ms Linsley's reaction yesterday would no doubt have been typical of many of the region's top achievers.

Topping the Coffs Coast in the UAI ranking was former Woolgoolga High School student Amy Noakes, who scored a staggering 99.35, and six band sixes.

As a triplet, the pressure must have been on for Amy's two siblings, with sister Zoe scoring 95.8 and brother Sam scoring 82.

"They all did extremely well," a very proud father Phil said yesterday.

The dux of Bishop Druitt College, Leighton Kraa, who received a UAI of 96.9 was visibly relieved with his result and 'very happy', although having won a scholarship to Bond University to study commerce law had taken some of the pressure of Leighton's pre-HSC study.

UAI results are sent directly to the individual students, and while attempts were made to compile a list of all students in the region who achieved a result above 90, the Coffs Coast Advocate understands there are many who will be absent from the following list.

We congratulate all HSC students on the Coffs Coast for a job well done.
