Highway riders meet at Emerald

Up to 50 members of the The Black Uhlans Motorcycle Club got to know the local constabulary a little better on the Pacific Highway at Emerald Beach yesterday morning. At 7.42am, police allege one of the bikers was causing an obstruction to vehicles in Park Beach Road at Coffs Harbour. Highway patrol police chased the rider and pulled him over at Emerald Beach, which prompted the man's clubmates to also stop on the side of the road. Police reinforcements were called to the scene. A Queensland man, 32, was issued with a traffic infringement notice and another Queensland man, 33, was issued with a court attendance notice for hindering police in their duty. Black Uhlans members had been in Coffs Harbour for a weekend gathering.
