Grant to foster fishing

THE National Marine Science Centre will receive up to $72,000 from the Federal Government as part of the Recreational Fishing Community Grants Program.

The Coffs Harbour centre will use the funds to create a sustainable recreational fishing program for New South Wales school group excursions.

This will include displays on a recreational fishing theme to promote key attributes of the fishing experience, including the responsible handling and safe release of fish.

The grant is one of 18 grants totalling $664,468 for NSW projects designed to foster recreational fishing.
