Give violence the boot

LET'S say no to violence in our community!

That's the message the Woolgoolga Neighbourhood Centre wants to spread by holding an education day on domestic violence on October 14 from 1pm to 3pm.

The centre's aim is to raise community awareness about the social issue of domestic violence, set up a support group for women and provide important information on where people can go to get help.

Guest speakers for the afternoon will be Police Liaison Officer, Phil Jacobson, and representative for Warrina Women's Refuge, Charlotte Young.

They will address issues surrounding domestic violence and give clear information on resources and what roles services play in the community to combat against domestic violence.

If you have ever wanted to ask a question regarding domestic violence issues, this will be your opportunity.

Even if you have never experienced any form of domestic violence, you may know someone who has.

If you are interested in attending or need further information, contact the Woolgoolga Neighbourhood Centre on 6654 1598.
