Even Queenslanders adore our beaches
WE have always known it to be true and now it seems our neighbours up north also agree we have the best beaches.
More Queenslanders, particularly Gold Coasters, are holidaying on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales where the beaches are better, according to former Queenslander and marketing manager for Mid North Coast Tourism, Belinda Novicky.
She is backed by Port Macquarie longboard champion, Troy White, who has surfed the entire East Coast and believes the beaches of the Mid North Coast are better than the Gold Coast because they are unspoilt, less crowded, more attractive and generally offer better conditions for swimming and surfing.
"The Gold Coast beaches are long straight stretches with few protected places for young swimmers and new surfers," he said.
"All along the Mid North Coast there are many safe, patrolled beaches with protected bays for novice surfers, swimmers and families."
The Mid North Coast of NSW, stretching over 450km, from Port Stephens in the south to the northern tip of the Coffs Coast at Corindi Beach, features more than 60 main beaches, each with individual character and appeal.!
