Epic waves for contest

THE Coffs United Boardriders held their second competition last Sunday with epic waves in the four to six feet range, so the club had its once only double points weekend, where surfers gain double points for there years point tally.

It gives a good chance for the bigger wave surfers to shine.

With a strong 115 surfers competing there was some amazing surfing, with standouts Elli Sharp, Jayke Sharp, Angela Keighran and Moonee shreader Danny Cougle.

The day was a great success with the barbecue raising about $200 thanks to Barry, Jenny and new tuckshop barbecue guru Barb making an appearance on the tongs.

A big thanks to our sponsors for the year: Coopers Surf Australia, Sunpatch Surf Shop, McDonalds, Retrevision, Bananacoast Batteries, Pepper Print, Klaus Telecommunications, Doctor Ding, Woolgoolga Handi Hire, hotnet, Giant Designs and Kelly Travel. Please support these businesses.

Please note the next surf competition is on Sunday, April 17 and membership forms must be paid on the day as no surfing in the club will be enforced.

Also a contest format will change with either double banking the first round or 15 min heat also for the first round.

Please also note there is a 7:30am cut off any surfers after this will not surf, the next meet will be at 7am.

Any other businesses who wish to get onboard for this year please contact Bryn Goode on 0401 477 612.
