Dylan to blow her horn

THERE will no school today for Dylan Baskett.

Instead the Woolgoolga Public School student will fly to Sydney to take her place as a member of the 2006 NSW Department of Education and Training State Schools Junior Wind Band.

Since being selected in the band the young trumpet player hasn't stopped smiling, knowing that tomorrow she will do something every Australia musician dreams of ? play at the Sydney Opera House in front of a packed crowd.

And if the nerves and excitement that Dylan expects to feel on stage means she can't fully appreciate the moment, she will get a second chance.

The band is performing at the Opera House as part of the 2006 Festival of Instrumental Music and will take part in two concerts, the Acacia Concert tomorrow and the Jacaranda Concert on Wednesday.
