Drugs, guns, bikes found in early morning raid

A TIP-OFF has turned into gold for Coffs Harbour police.

Acting on information received from the public, eight police raided a property at Coramba at 9am on Thursday.

They seized almost three kilograms of cannabis, with an estimated street value of nearly $30,000, from a house on the property.

They also found two shotguns and a rifle.

Three stolen mini-bikes were also located concealed in nearby scrub.

Only three weeks ago, five mini-bikes were stolen from a motorbike shop in Wallis Avenue at Toormina.

Later on Thursday night police officers apprehended two men.

Constable Justin Welsh alleged motorcycle accessories stolen from the Toormina shop were found in the car the men were travelling in.

He said the men, aged 20 and 25 and both from Coffs Harbour, were subsequently charged with aggravated break and enter.

The pair will appear in the Coffs Harbour Local Court on May 7.

Constable Welsh said some items stolen from the Toormina Motorbike shop were still outstanding.

He said police are continuing their inquiries into the haul.
