District pennant winners



BELLINGEN and Urunga Bowling Clubs have sealed wins in the the final two men's district lawn bowls pennants competitions for 2005.

Bellingen took the grade six district flag defeating Sawtell 5-1 while Urunga downed Nambucca Heads by the same margin to collect the district grade seven flag.

Mid North Coast district publicity officer, Fred Aboulehaf said it is the first time in many years that the seven pennants up for decision have been won by seven different clubs from the 13 playing in the district.

Zone play-offs between Lower North Coast and Mid North Coast to determine places in the State championships will be played on June 26 at venues to be ann-ounced.

The draw is:

Grade 1 , Kempsey Heights v Park Beach.

Grade 2, Port City v Coffs Ex-Services.

Grade 3, Hat Head v Sawtell.

Grade 4, West Port v West Coffs.

Grade 5, Port City v Woolgoolga.

Grade 6, Kempsey Heights v Bellingen.

Grade 7 Port City v Urunga.

Championship finals in zone singles, pairs, triples and fours will be played on July 2 and 3.
