Dan to tackle NZ enduro
By JACQUI LUMB
EIGHT hours a day on a motorbike, for six days straight doesn't sound strange to Bonville Enduro rider Dan Ralph, 23, and that's what he'll be doing next year when he heads to New Zealand for an international six day enduro ride.
Dan has been racing in enduro events for six years and has just returned from winning the Moree four hour Enduro.
He also travelled to Wyong recently in the Australian titles where he finished 10th, winning a 250cc fourstroke Yamaha.
Over thes long weekend he headed to West Kempsey where he competed in the Nulla Nulla Sprint Series against 80-100 other riders.
The competition originally was a team event, but changed to an individual event with juniors competing on the Saturday and seniors on Sunday.
Dan was racing on his Gas Gas 300, sponsored by Solo Motorcycle Imports in Sydney and other semi sponsors for his oil and tyres.
One day he dreams of full sponsorship, inspired by other Australian riders such as former Australian champion Shane Watts and current Australian number one A.J. Roberts.
Along with the race last weekend and another in Dungog later in the year, Dan has only one more race left in the year, giving him a welldeserved break over the summer before starting up again next February.
Other local riders were Trevor Bower and Tony Bishop.
