Crowds flock to the festival

SUPER Saturday became Soggy Sunday as Bellingen's much acclaimed Blues and Jazz Festival suffered from the changing weather patterns over the weekend.

On Saturday crowds flocked to the town to watch the array of musical talent on show and to take in the mood at the famous markets.

By lunchtime the traffic queue was snaking its way almost back to the Pacific Highway, such was the desire of Coffs Coast people to be part of the scene.

Even actor John Howard from All Saints took time off after hosting a charity quiz night in Coffs on Friday, to stroll the grounds.

On Saturday evening the mellow mood of jazz and blues filtered through the warm air.

But grey skies and rain brought the mood to an abrupt end yesterday, although organisers quickly moved many of the events to the Memorial Hall.
