Crowds catch up with city centre buskers

CARS gave way to comedy in the City Centre yesterday when the stars of the International Buskers and Comedy Festival closed Harbour Drive and then proceeded to run amok. Thousands of people encircled two performance rings set up on the main street to be thoroughly entertained by 17 different acts. Busker Festival organiser John Logan said he had been overwhelmed with the response to this year's line-up. He said he was confident the festival would continue to grow and become to Coffs Harbour what country music is to Tamworth. If you haven't caught up with the buskers yet, today some will be in City Square between 10am and 2.30pm; at special kids shows at the Catholic Club starting at 10am and 1.30pm; and at the Sawtell RSL from 8pm. The Blackstreet Boyz will also be conducting a workshop at the PCYC from 9am. Photo: Skyviewphotography.com.au
