Hearns Lake

A COMMUNITY workshop forum to discuss the Draft Hearns Lake/Sandy Beach Development Control Plan will be held on Wednesday, March 16, at 6.30pm in the Sandy Beach Public School Hall.

The public exhibition period for the draft plan has been extended until March 31.

The draft documents can be viewed on Council's website at www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au or at Council's Main Administration Building.

Copies can also be seen at the City, Toormina and Woolgoolga Libraries.

Written submissions will be received no later than the close of business on March 31, 2005 and should be addressed to the General Manager, Coffs Harbour City Council, Locked Bag 155, Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450.

Youth Week

AS part of Youth Week, Coffs Harbour Youth Arts Council is offering young filmmakers the chance to see their short film, animation or new media (digital) art exhibited at the Bunker Cartoon Gallery.

If you are aged between 12 and 25 years you are eligible to enter the competition.

Entries must be 10 minutes or less in length, can be based on any theme or style and suitable for general audiences.

Winning entries will be shown from April 14-18 at the Bunker Cartoon Gallery.

Opening Night is Thursday, April 14 at 7:30pm. Entry is by gold coin and bring your own beanbag or deck chair and popcorn.

Sounds on the Lake

'Sounds on the Lake' returns to Woolgoolga Lake Reserve on Friday, March 18, with an elegant outdoor screening of 'Chicago'.

The cost is $5 per person, which includes a glass of champagne on arrival and live musical entertainment by the fabulous Doff Brothers from 7pm.

Fancy Dress, 1920s style, is optional and the best dressed couple will win a romantic dinner for two.

If you can't make the Friday night, there is still a chance to kick up your heels on Saturday, March 19, from 6.30pm to the dulcet tones of the Roger Burke Quintet and the Phill Stit Trio.

Tickets are only $8 and children under-12 can go for free.

Refreshments are available on site.

Tickets are available from businesses throughout Woolgoolga.

Bring a rug, a chair and a friend for a fabulous evening under the stars.
