Coffs spoiled for choice
THERE once was a time when Coffs Harbour residents had to travel to a major city for a true shopping experience ? but not anymore.
With last week's opening of WOW Sight and Sound, the company's first in NSW, one might say that Coffs Coast shoppers are now spoilt for choice when it comes to buying electrical goods.
Along with the major retailers ? such as Morrisons Electrical Mega Store, Joshua Cornell The Good Guys and Harvey Norman ? there are also a number of smaller and specialist outlets.
But can Coffs Harbour sustain so much choice?
"Absolutely," said The Good Guys manager, Joshua Cornell.
"As well as working in the industry, I am also a Coffs Harbour local. And as a local I think it is fantastic.
"Coffs Harbour needs to offer customers a wide choice for its future development, to bring people to the city."
Morrison Electrical manager, Garth Morrison, agrees.
"You can't always look at new stores as the opposition.
"They add more depth to the shopping precinct, which attracts more people. And that can only be positive."
