Chefs show off local produce

Plantation Hotel chef Phil Cardwell and celebrity chef Matthew Moran team up to launch the practical side of the Coffs Coast Advocate Food and Wine Festival at the Coffs Coast Growers Market with a dish which showcases the flavour of locally-caught tuna. Today Matt Moran will be conducting a cooking masterclass for local chefs at the Osprey Restaurant at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC), starting at noon. Tonight will see the Jetty Strip light up as the Festival's Progressive Dinner mixes street theatre, cuisine and musical dining chairs as it weaves its way around the Fishermans Katch, Scoffs, The Watermark and The European, as groups of diners enjoy dishes ranging from duck confit to strawberry millefeuilles. Tomorrow the action moves to Park Beach Reserve for the Picnic in the Park (see our special feature on Pages 69-71 today). Photo: CHRIS RIX 04103001A
