Chamber golf day raises $7000



A CAPACITY shotgun start field turned out at the Bonville International Golf Resort for the 2006 Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce golf day.

The day was a success with more than $7000 from major sponsor MBT, a raffle and from generous sponsorship by the 36 companies represented on course.

The players had great fun playing in teams of four fighting for the Chamber of Commerce Perpetual Trophy. At the end of the day the team from Mike Blewitt Ford of Todd Blewitt, Terry Booth, Marlon Saunders and Bruce Silvia hoisted the revered trophy after producing a fantastic score of nett 54 3/8 (after losing two strokes in a bonus raffle).

Second place went to the Star FM team of Craig Gardiner, Jason Seeco, Rob Pearson and Bill Blyth with the West Lawn Finance team of Gurk Singh, David Blanford, Brett Banwell and Ken Potter claiming third prize.

Fourth place was taken by the Leading Edge Telecoms team of Stan Dasey, Ben Wood, Peter Wood and Dave Newell.

Fifth place was the team from Crane Butcher McKinnon consisting of Paul Crane, Peter Lubans, Tony Feitelson and Zas Feitelson on a count back from the sixth placed Park Beach Plaza team of Steve Gooley, Darren Leaney, Dale Coombes and Ken Budge.

Seventh placed on the day was the MBT group of Geoff Smede, Geoff Pollack, Bill Langler and Peter Owen. Eighth placed was the Fishburn Watson and O'Brien team of Chris O'Brien, Sam Couper, Craig McGregor and Barry Booth. Ninth placed was the Davies Knox Maynard team of Greg Mallam, Tom Murray-Prior, Lawerence Williams and Warren Nix. Apart for the major prize there were also prizes awarded for longest drive, won by Crane Butcher McKinnon's Glen Penson, nearest to pins won by Roger Pryce on the 6th and Sam Couper on the 12th, the Bradman award, which went to Country Energy, plus a prize for the 'snappiest dressed team', won by the Breakfree Aanuka team and best team name taken by the Adecco team 'the Adecco Dodo's'.
