Carr to speak on rubbish in Coffs
FORMER NSW Premier Bob Carr heads a distinguished list of keynote speakers at the eighth National Waste Management Conference to be hosted in Coffs Harbour later this month.
Mr Carr, who is currently Chair of the Climate Institute Advisory Council, will speak on 'Waste Management in a Changing Climate'.
Other keynote speakers include Canadian Peter Watson, who was instrumental in establishing a regional waste management strategy in Ontario, Matthew Searson from the Australian Greenhouse Office, Jorn Johansen, Managing Director of Norwegian company Bio Bag International and Mark Glover of Eco Waste Pty Ltd.
"Having speakers of the calibre of Bob Carr and his colleagues shows the importance and prestige this conference has gained across Australia and internationally," said Coffs Harbour Mayor Councillor Keith Rhoades.
"One of the highlights of the conference will be the opportunity given to the delegates to view the work Council and its Coffs Coast Waste Service partners have achieved in our region.
"We are proud to be leaders in waste management technology and look forward to being able to share our experiences in regional collaboration."
The conference will be held from October 17-18 at Opal Cove Resort.
