Bypass route action
ROSELANDS Estate may be close to a major new interchange on the proposed Pacific Highway bypass.
A new map showing more details of the preferred route for the Coffs Harbour bypass was released yesterday.
It shows two potential tunnels north-west of Coffs Harbour, possible interchanges at Korora, Bennetts Road and Englands Road, and a possible fauna overpass at Roberts Hill Ridge.
Heading north, the proposed bypass will leave the present Pacific Highway at Englands Road, cross North Boambee Road west of Bishop Druitt College, cross Coramba Road near the intersection with Bennetts Road, and will cross the North Coast rail line near Shephards Lane, before bending east towards west Korora and rejoining the existing highway south of Bruxner Park Road.
The route is a combination of the previously displayed Inner North and Inner South route options.
A Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) team will be in Coffs Harbour shortly to carry out additional survey and geotechnical work to help in defining the boundaries of the road corridor for the preferred route.
Property owners whose land is involved in these investigations will be contacted by letter in advance.
