Bright start for North Coast



NORTHCoast have made a bright start to the NSW Combined High Schools touch championships being conducted at the Coffs Harbour International Stadium.

The North Coast girls won three of their four matches on day one against Hunter 4-2, Sydney North 3-2 and Western Region 6-3 before losing a tight encounter 2-0 to one of the tournament big guns Sydney East.

In matches today, North Coast meet Sydney West at 9.55, Soiuth Coast at 11.40, and Sydney South West at 1.25.

South Coast appear to be one of the favourites for the 2005 title after going through all their four opening day matches undefeated.

For North Coast, Emma Gillogly from Port Macquarie High School has been one of the star players with four tries on the opening day.

She had been given good support by Lara Dowling from Port Macquarie High School and Jacinta Dodds from Tweed River High School.

North Coast d Hunter 4-2.

Western d Sydney South West 4-2.

South Coast d Sydney West 5-3.

North West d Western 3-2.

Riverina drew with Sydney West 4-all.

Sydney East d North Coast 2-0.

South Coast d North West 6-1, Riverina d Sydney South West 5-0.

South Coast d Sydney North 3-2.

North West drew with Sydney North 4-all.

Riverina d Sydney East 3-2.

North Coast d Sydney North 3-2.

Sydney East d Hunter 2-1.

South Coast d Sydney South West 10-0.

Sydney North d Western 4-1.

Sydney West d Hunter 6-4.

North Coast d Western 6-3.

Sydney East drew with Sydney West 3-all.
