Blewitts and Star FM get mum back on the road

WHAT a rollercoaster ride it's been this week for Zoe Watkins.

On Wednesday, we brought you the story of the young Coffs Harbour mum who was upset on Sunday morning when she discovered her Nissan Pulsar hatch had been stolen from her carport.

She had saved long and hard for her first set of wheels, but to make matters worse, the car also had a baby capsule for her three-month-old, Jake, her shoulder bag containing her wallet and licence, compact discs and a sound system.

Zoe and her family appealed for information on the whereabouts of the car when they were guests on Star FM's breakfast program yesterday.

But Zoe was unaware that a surprise awaited her.

Star FM's breakfast announcer, Shane Ferguson, had secretly approached car dealer Todd Blewitt after reading our story to see if he could help Zoe.

Live on air, Zoe was presented with the keys to a blue second-hand Toyota Camry, complete with tinted windows and seven months' registration, along with a $50 fuel card and other goodies from the dealership.

Zoe and her mother, Judith, were overcome with tears of joy, and thanked those responsible for the wonderful gift.

But closure won't come until they find out what happened to her first car.
