Best seat in the house
THERE are lots of reasons why an effervescent young woman would want to be The Coffs Coast Advocate 2006 Face of the Carnival.
For Simone Howe there was just one.
"I just wanted to guarantee that I went to the races," Simone said.
"As I hadn't long been working as a researcher with the Coffs Harbour's City Council's Economic Development last year I missed out on going to the Coffs Cup, but this year I'll not only been there, I'll have one of the best seats in the house," she said.
As the Coffs Coast Advocate's Face of the Carnival, Simone, 30, will see a lot of horseflesh during the cup carnival.
"I'll be at the races on the Sunday, Tuesday and of course Thursday of the carnival. All I have to do now is work out how to place a bet," she laughed.
Originally from Townsville, Simone moved to Coffs Harbour two years ago after a three-year stint teaching English in Japan, and she couldn't be happier with her job description of encouraging business, investors and people to move to the area.
"The weather here is fantastic, there's no pollution and everything is so accessible," she said.
"The Coffs Coast has everything you need and there's a great sense of community."
As part of her prize Simone won a trip for two to Ladies Day at Rosehill, an outfit from Ab Fab, five seesions at The Tanning Studio in Palms Shopping, and a stunning necklace and drop earrings from Moonlight Deep Sea Pearls.
The only other accessory she needs is a 'date'.
"I'm very much single, and will definately be studying the form on Cup Day," Simone said.
