Basketball slam dunk

COFFS Haarbour girls Aimee Durbidge and Haley Cassell survived strenous selection trials to gain places in the NSW Country under-15 girls side for the Australian Pacific Coast Slam.

The tournament starts today and runs through until next Tuesday at Port Macquarie.

The NSW team will play matches against Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Canberra and New Zealand.

Selection in the NSW Country junior team provides gifted athletes with the opportunity to further develop their individual and team skills in basketball and realise their full playing potential.

This can lead to State and higher representative honours and both Aimee and Haley are looking forward to the tournament saying it will be a great opportunity.

The selection of both girls in the team is another example of the strength of Coffs Harbour basketball.

A contingent of Coffs Harbour basketball players are travelling to Albury for the Country Junior Basketball Cup.
