Appeal for information

DETECTIVES yesterday continued their appeal for information on the rape of a teenager in Coffs Harbour on Friday night.

The girl, 16, was walking on her own in Harbour Drive near Boambee Street at 10pm when a man grabbed her.

He dragged her 50 metres to an area under a vacant building where he sexually assaulted her before fleeing, police said.

She ran back to Harbour Drive where police met her. They had been called by passers-by who saw her being dragged away.

Her attacker is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged about 20, 175cm tall, with a medium build and short blond hair ? possibly a number two style.

He was last seen wearing black pants and a black shirt.
