Angler?s name released

POLICE have released the name of a man who drowned off the southern breakwall at Coffs Harbour last week.

David Gray, 30, of Bonville, had been fishing with a friend on the rocks when he was washed from the wall by a wave about noon on Thursday.

His friend tried to help him out of the water by throwing him a rope, but as he tried to climb out of the water, he struck and injured his head on the rocks and lost consciousness, police said.
