All systems go for Bellingen

Bellinger Valley - Dorrigo secretary Russell Fensom has categorically denied rumours sweeping the area the Magpies are having difficulty getting enough players to fulfil their open grade commitments.

"The stories are a load of b???t," Russ says adamantly.

"We have an overspill of numbers for under 18's and an average of 20 seniors at each training session."

Helping the rumourmill grind away has been Bello's misfortune with trials, none of it their fault.

The first attempt with Wauchope fell foul of the weather.

Last week, the trial with Moree was abandoned when the Boars were forced to pull out at the last moment.

"One of their players passed away and the club decided not to travel," Fensom said.

"We had full squads for every grade, not a lack of starters as has been bandied about."

Fensom is irritated by clubs ringing his players after hearing tales of the club's 'difficulties.'

"I'm prepared to be quoted on the record," he said.

"There is no problem.

"Bellingen will be part of Group 2 in 2006."
