Abbe off to China to strut catwalk

AN exciting couple of months awaits Coffs Harbour girl Abbe Sweetman.

The 17-year-old John Paul College student has secured a two-month modelling contract with the Absolute Models Agency in China.

She was selected from a bevy of keen Australian models through the Moda Management Agency of Sydney.

Abbe is ecstatic about the prospect of modelling in a foreign country.

"Modelling is something I really love to do and this job will also give me greater exposure in the industry," she said.

She will also learn to live independently and is looking forward to meeting new people while on assignment.

The prospect of working full time is not a problem for Abbe who has organised to fulfil her Year 11 school assessment requirements before she jets out of the country.

"My teachers will also email schoolwork for me while I'm in China so that I keep up with my class mates."
