Anzac Day booklet for Coffs
COFFS locals can learn about local military heroes with the release of a special Anzac Day commemorative booklet from Coffs Harbour MP Andrew Fraser.
Mr Fraser has again produced an eight-page booklet titled ‘The Spirit of Anzac’, which gives an insight into Australia’s military history and the role personnel from within the electorate played in various wars and conflicts.
“Some of the local stories are certain to generate plenty of interest in the booklet include a Raleigh man’s close ties to the famous Lancaster bomber ‘G for George’ and a Military Medal winner form Coffs Harbour who died a hero in World War I,” Mr Fraser said.
The booklet also carries a handy reference guide to many of the Anzac Day dawn services and marches in the region and gives an informative overview of Australia’s involvement in the Gallipoli campaign.
Mr Fraser hopes young Australians will benefit from the information by broadening their understanding of Anzac.
“Anzac Day is a time for reflection and pride,” he said.
“It is an important day for this nation and a time for us to gather and remember those men and women who have served and died in all wars and conflicts to ensure our country enjoys the freedom and safety it does today.”
