Almost better than the real thing

IN what is sure to be a spectacular sight, models from far and wide will take to the sky on the Coffs Coast this weekend.

Model aeroplanes that is.

The Bananacoast Radio Controllers Club (BRCF) will conduct its 31st annual fun fly competition, showcasing many of the large variety of radio-controlled model aircraft in a series of events over the two days of competition.

And between events, flyers will be able to fly in a freestyle format, ensuring that there are models in the air for most of the time during what is expected to be a great event.
The weekend is becoming so popular it is beginning to attract competitors from as far afield as Port Macquarie in the south and Lismore to the north.

The events start at 10am on Saturday and Sunday and hot food and drinks will be available on both days. You can't miss the field - it is located 14km north of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway, just past the Moonee shopping centre and near to the old Coffs Harbour zoo site.
