Alleged rapist to await DNA report

A MAN who faces 18 charges of the indecent treatment of a child under 16 years and two charges of rape has had his bail enlarged.

The defendant's lawyer Mark Oliver applied for the man's bail to be enlarged on his behalf in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25.

Mr Oliver said the legal proceedings were waiting on evidence from a DNA report, which could take up to six months to be complete.

The defendant faces two alleged counts of rape.

He also faces six counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 through exposure, one count of indecent treatment of a child under 16 through indecent filming and 11 counts of the indecent treatment of children under 16.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court for committal mention on June 10.

If the results from the DNA report are released earlier than June, the court date will be brought forward.
