RAIN wasn't going to stop a number of determined people as they made their way through puddles and across the finish line at the Mid North Coast Cross Country.
Held last weekend at Urunga, numbers were down but the competition was as keen as ever.
In the 2km run, Peter Cohen prevailed over Daniel Williams by eight seconds with Lochie Marle rounding out the podium.
Newcomer Grace McCormack took out the female section ahead of Kylie Marle and Jan Rooney.
Rooney made a day of it by backing up to be female runner-up in the 10km.
The 5km runs had a tight early tussle between Jonny Gusman and the Burridge twins, Ben and Tom.
All three runners completed the track in less than 19 minutes with Gusman's time of 18.06 proving hard to beat.
Chloe Bulloch was the best of the females in the 5km run by more than a minute.
Mitchell Karrasch and Clare Palmer led in the 10km with pressure from runners up Ed Brazier and Jan Rooney.
Winners, runners up and Mark Garner all finished the 10km under 40 minutes.
This week, the cross country moves north to Emerald Beach where runners and organisers are hoping for a sunny day.
