HE may be running the operations at Brelsford Park in his own name now but tennis coach Jared Kelly has a vision for tennis on the Coffs Coast that extends beyond his own tennis club.
“I want to concentrate on bringing all of the tennis clubs together,” Kelly said.
“So with Sawtell and Westside we should be able to get some really strong competitions going and that’s a big focus for us.”
Kelly says that he’s already discussed his ideas with both Allan Pade and Eli Bayliss at the other clubs and believes that they’re on the same wavelength as he is when it comes to advancing tennis in the region.
The passionate tennis coach took over the reins at the club by himself at the start of April after working in partnership with Danny Sousa prior to that.
Sousa is still an integral member of the Brelsford Park scene but has decided to scale down his commitments a bit to concentrate on some of his own ambitions.
Kelly was only too happy to fulfil his dream of going it alone and has already started implementing his own ideas for the club.
“The first stage in our business plan is to really get the foundations right here,”
“After that it’s instigating all of our different sport programs and coaching programs.
“After we do all of that and integrate all of the different programs and finalise our structure with how the different coaching programs evolve from one stage to the next then we’ll hopefully be having a really big super league throughout Coffs and really get all of the clubs really working together.”
The clubhouse has already undergone a facelift and the claycourts have also received a makeover which has Kelly and the rest of the coaching network at the club hoping that brighter things (even brighter than the orange shirts) aren’t that far away.
