Affection clearly flagged

PROUD does not even come close to describing how James Breeze feels about being an Aussie.

"We live in the best country in the world," the Peregian Springs patriot said.

Mr Breeze displays his loyalty for the golden country in every way possible.

He flies the Australian Flag outside his house, sits under an Australian flag-printed umbrella at the beach and has even painted his Harley-Davidson to represent his devotion to the country.

One of Mr Breeze's recent displays of affection for Australia was to buy themed number plates for his car. The plate's characters, 55ENG, represent the veteran's Vietnam battalion.

"Our ancestors fought and died for this country - the flag looked over our soldiers as they died and came back home," he said.

"It looks over parliament and every ceremony we have and when we march in the Olympic Games, we march under the Australian flag.

"It is very special and means a lot to me, which is why I show it everywhere I go."

Mr Breeze celebrated Australia Day with a traditional lamb barbecue, surrounded by friends and family.
