Adventure gets a new name with Bush n Bay Adventure Race

TODAY is the day adventure enthusiasts have been waiting for.

The inaugural Bush n Bay Adventure Race is happening at the North Beach Holiday Park, Mylestom.

Set in the stunning surrounds, tracks, trails and waters of the Bongil Bongil National Park, Coffs Coast and Bellinger River, the Adventure Race is set to challenge all levels of racers, from beginners to veterans, and elite athletes.

Centaur Outdoor Events is behind the Adventure Race.

Founder and Event Director for Centaur Outdoor Events, Peter Manning said they have designed a tough and testing four-stage adventure race over a 45-50km course.

"If the weather forecast is right, we'll be clearing to a beautiful 22 degrees and partly cloudy - perfect coastal conditions for testing our participants, who will be sure to work up a sweat as they set off on the first mountain bike leg through the breathtaking national park.

"And for our running enthusiasts, we've also designed a 12km demanding trail and beach run for those participants who want to tackle that stage of the course only."

He said Centaur Outdoor Events is proud to announce that the Bush n Bay Adventure Race has been sanctioned by Triathlon Australia, who will provide a technical officer on the day to help ensure a safe and fair event is delivered, and the race will also be timed.

"The core values Triathlon Australia embraces, of respect, healthy enjoyment, belonging and achievement, align perfectly with the Centaur objectives and values.

"We believe through fitness events, we can bring everyday people together so they can realise their full potential and live their lives through fun."

The Bush n Bay Adventure Race is proudly supporting the North Beach Surf Life Saving Club "Little Nippers", who will be holding a fundraising barbecue on the day.

Participants will be able to purchase refreshments, chat to fellow competitors and enjoy the fantastic facilities of the North Beach Holiday Park with hosts, Peg and Jack, who will be throwing on a pre-race breakfast for participants, who are staying at the park.

Music entertainment is planned after the event for the early evening.

Race organisers say that another event, for February, is already in the planning stages.
