Actor Will Smith spotted in Queensland

ACTOR Will Smith is in Far North Queensland and making fast friends with the locals as he visits Lizard Island during his Australian holiday.

The Los Angeles-based Hollywood star shared an underwater snap of himself and a spotted cod on Instagram today during a scuba diving trip.

He's currently staying at Lizard Island, a luxury destination about an hour's flight north of Cairns.

The actor took a selfie at an interactive installation at the National Gallery of Victoria’s NGV Triennial.

"Another one checked off of my bucket list," he wrote in the caption.

"Scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef! That fish was a whole lot scarier in-person."

The 49-year-old actor spent the start of his holidays enjoying the Australian Open in Melbourne, as well as taking selfies at the National Gallery of Victoria's prestigious NGV Triennial exhibition.

Despite being a multi-millionaire, the down-to-earth actor has indulged in many of the same activities the average tourist in Australia enjoys, including meeting a crocodile and a koala and taking selfies with the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
