Wine tasting helps raise funds

IT all started 10 years ago with a humble beginning at Meerea Park Winery and The Cheese Factory in the Hunter Valley.

Now, ‘Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City’ has evolved to be the major fundraiser for the club. All of the funds raised by selling tickets and the silent auction go towards local charities such as Lifeline, Waratah Centre and Coffs Kids Care.

The event, gives wine lovers the opportunity to sample Australia wide quality wines all under one roof.

Normally there are around eight labels represented with up to seven quality wines each. The event has proven to be so successful that it attracts major brands and this year is no exception with the following wineries represented.

Grant Burge: Barossa Valley – SA

Peppertree Wines: Hunter Valley

Devils Corner: Tasmania

Tamar Ridge: Tasmania

Cape Baron: McLaren Vale

McGuigan Wines: Hunter Valley

Angoves Australia Regional Wines

Temple Bruer: Langhorn Creek SA

Pacific Bay Marquee has been the home of the Wine Enjoyment for the last eight years and sets the mood for another fun enjoyable afternoon to be held on May 8, 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

What better way to spend an autumn afternoon than tasting some fine wines with friends and helping our Rotary Club raise funds for great local charities.
