DO YOU know what tomorrow is? It's the designated day to celebrate your mum, of course.

Three lovely mothers, grandmothers and dear old, decades-long friends Elaine Denner, Jennie Cunningham and Robin Scofield caught up for lunch this week and told The Advocate what Mother's Day means to them and how they plan to spend it.

They met at Park Beach Plaza, which has done something special as a tribute to mums.

The Plaza has planted chrysanthemums throughout the centre, adding splashes of colour.

Chrysanthemums have become a symbolic Mother's Day flower and the bouquets made a beautiful backdrop for the three mums.

Between them they have eight children and 15 grandchildren.

Robin said her daughters were taking her out for lunch on Mother's Day.

"Spending time with my family is the best gift of all," she said.

Jennie will spend time with her 94-year-old mother, daughter-in-law and two of her grandchildren.

"It will be four generations going out for high tea," she said.

For Elaine, the joy in Mother's Day comes from celebrating other mothers and passing the love along.
