Last days of razzle dazzle show

BY DAY, she is a mother and the manager of the Sisco fashion store, but by night Melinda Winkler is transformed into Sally Bowles, the star of the Kit Kat Club in pre World War II Berlin

This week is your last chance to see the Coffs Harbour Musical Comedy Company’s very successful production of Cabaret, with evening shows at 8pm tomorrow and Saturday and a matinee at 2pm on Saturday.

Melinda Winkler was born and raised in Coffs Harbour, and even as a young girl, her talent was recognised by her singing teacher Julie Sherman, who encouraged her to audition for the 1989 production of Camelot.

Coincidentally, that show was directed by Cabaret director, Pat Slattery.

Mel has never looked back. She has gone on to perform in many local productions, including lead roles in Leader of the Pack and The Mikado, and is also well known as the vivacious front woman of local rock band One Hand Clapping.

Melinda Winkler has been unfazed by the challenge of taking up the role made famous by Liza Minnelli, in her Oscar-winning performance.

This is a razzle dazzle show with a wonderful cast. Don’t miss it.
