Healthy look at career options
HIGH school students interested in a career in any aspect of health are invited to make a beeline to Healthwise tomorrow.
The Community Healthwise Careers Day will be held at Coffs Harbour Racecourse from 10.30am to 1.45pm and will showcase more than 20 different careers in health.
It is open to public and private high school students between Woolgoolga and Macksville and will showcase 21 different health occupations.
There will be people to talk to about dentistry and dental nursing, residential aged care; mental health; physiotherapy; diet, early intervention; pathology, chiropody, social work and many other occupations.
Among those talking to students on the day will be medical students currently studying at the NSW Rural Clinical School in Coffs Harbour,
The dayhas been organised with the help of the Mid North Coast Division of General Practice, Coffs Harbour City Council and Careers Connections.
Students will be divided up into small groups and will spend 15 minutes with each occupation. They will also learn to look at eyes and put plaster on an elbow.
