A fabulous way to sell your produce

ABSOLUTELY Fabulously Local (AFL) has just opened at Bonville on the soon-to-be- bypassed Pacific Highway.

Established by Bonville vegetable grower Kim Vincent, AFL is an outlet selling and showcasing produce and products grown and made within 100 miles (166km) of Coffs Harbour.

The range stretches from beef, lamb, chicken, pork, fish, duck, goat, fruit, vegetables, dairy and pasta to local condiments and cleaning products.

Kim Vincent, who grows both hydroponic and field vegetables, is also the NSW representative for Vegetables Australia.

“It is all about bringing local products to our local community:” Kim said. “At the end of 2006, we were faced with spending nearly one million dollars expanding the operation on the farm or marketing our produce directly.

“We carried out some market research and the decision was to market our produce and like-minded farmers' produce and start selling directly through the growers markets.”

The project grew from there and Kim is now sourcing produce and products from '100 miles' around Coffs Harbour.

Staff numbers have grown from 6 to 11 and the grand opening will be on September 10.

Kim said she had done her homework and was quietly confident that consumers were looking for premium quality local produce with a chemical free policy at an affordable price.

AFL is always looking for local produce and products and you can find them 10 minutes south of Coffs Harbour at 1222 Pacific Highway Bonville. Phone 6653 5225 or 0411 189 906
