Fishing Classic winner reeled in a 27.9kg spanish mackerel

NATHAN Stevens reeled in a winner in the form of a 27.9kg spanish mackerel at the 2015 Yeppoon Coast Guard Tight Lines Fishing Classic over the weekend.

The killer catch was the largest fish weighed during the event, earning Mr Stevens overall honours for the annual competition conducted by members of the Keppel Bay Sports Fishing Classic

Joining him on the winner's podium was Joel Billman who snared a 13.7kg Cobia to earn the award for the largest fish caught by a junior.

The winning corporate team of four was Capcon Conveyors with the largest aggregate catch.

Yeppoon Coast Guard flotilla commander Arthur Hunt said ideal weather made for a fantastic three-day event with entrants travelling from all over the country to compete.
