Teacher's proposed stop work stops

School strike off

THE teacher's union will not proceed with a proposed 48-hour work stoppage at Coffs Coast schools next week.

A spokesperson for the NSW Teacher's Federation said significant progress has been made in negotiations with the Education Department and the stoppage proposed for the first week of the new school year will not proceed.

“The Executive notes that the Industrial Relations Commission will deal with the dispute on Wednesday morning and anticipates that this will result in a settlement,” the spokesperson said. The stoppage was proposed for Wednesday 28 January and Thursday 29 January.
