Sawtell club riding high after competition

SAWTELL BMX Club members have been successful in competition since the sport was first established in the region.

And it's been another great effort from club members at the 2008 New South Wales State Championships, held at Macarthur BMX Club on October 4-5.

Undeterred by the rain, mud, thunder and lighting, 20 riders travelled down south.

Overall, the club finished with two State Champions bringing home the No 1 plate. Morgan Peen was successful in the 13-14 Cruiser and Justin Reid won the 30-34 Master Cruiser.

The club finished the weekend with 13 State Plate holders. Mitchell Sutton, No 2 in 19-24 Cruiser and No 3 in 18 Boys; Terry Crossland, No 2 50+ Cruiser and No 2 50+ Challenge Men; Laney Graham, No2 in 16 Girls and No 4 in A Ladies; Renee Graham, No 3 in 40-44 Ladies Cruiser; Morgan Peen, No 4 in 14 Boys; David Graham, No 5 in 19-24 Cruiser; No5 in 19-24 Challenge Men; Amber Collins-Buckley, No 5 in 19-24 Ladies; Emma Hillier, No 5 in 13 Girls; Joshua Hillier, No 7 in 16 Boys. It was Terry Crossland's 20th consecutive State titles visit.
